Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) - Helping hands for Community.

Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) - Helping hands for Community.

Canada Revenue Agency  ( CRA) has joined hands with community leaders to organized Community Volunteer Income Tax program.

What is the CVITP?
As per CRA the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) is a collaboration between community organizations and the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Community organizations host tax preparation clinics and arrange for volunteers to prepare income tax and benefit returns for eligible individuals who have a modest income and a simple tax situation. The CRA provides coordinators and offers training and tax software.
This program is highly appreciated by the community members and provides a bridge between CRA and community. In Seneca Community, the CVITP is run by Seneca Community Centre. Whereas in Seneca College – Newnham Campus Free Tax Clinic is run under the supervision of Seneca Student Federation.
Seneca College has lots of residents and non -residents’ students who has little or no knowledge about taxation or tax benefit. They due to lack of knowledge on one side not fulling the statutory requirements bit on the other side failed to get the benefits. Tax clinics and CVITP helping those to become a better citizen.
True Financial Consultants ( TFC) is helping the community members to -be right.  TFC helps them to file their taxes and get maximum returns.
